London is the choice of destination for the opening night gala of the "Louis Vuitton: Series 3". This unconventional exhibition is an immersive experience that showcases the past, present and future of the Louis Vuitton brand, providing an insight into the creative process of Women's Artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, by retracing the steps of his celebrated Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 collection.

The opening night on September 20 2015 was attended by muses, friends of the maison and celebrities ranging from Michelle Williams, Poppy Delevigne, Alexa Chung, Harry Styles, Gwendoline Christie, Selena Gomez, Doona Bae, Sophie Turner, Xavier Dolan and Edie Campbell, among others.

The exhibition is the third in a series of exhibitions that have travelled the world to multiple destinations, ranging from Tokyo, Shangai, Los Angeles, Seoul and Rome.

The brand is unveiled through a series of 11 distinctive rooms conceuived as a total physical and interactive immersion - a journey through the world of Louis Vuitton.

“Series 3” is a stand-alone exhibition showcasing a designer and his creative process and influences. This is a journey inside a designer’s mind, where muses intertwine with cherished memories and visions of new shapes, cuts and meticulous craftsmanship.

“Series 3” is a sensorial journey, venturing deep into the designer’s soul and an artisan’s heart.

Guests enter via an extraordinary, geodesic dome ("Genesis of a Collection") , a reference to the structure built for the fashion show at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, in homage to the architect Richard Buckminster Fuller.

Inside an odyssey in time and space awaits them.

"What is a collection? How does a designer imagine a dress? How does Nicolas Ghesquière dream up a silhouette?"

These moments of thought and creation are expressed through the voice of Adèle Exarchopoulos who alllows the listener to discover how the Autumn-Winter 2015/2016 came to be.

In the centre of the room where the "Master Mind" section of the exhibition is, is a Louis Vuitton trunk containing Nicolas Ghesquière’s creative process and inspiration.

Over a century after its inception, the trunk still holds some of Louis Vuitton’s most treasured secrets and guards many of Nicolas Ghesquière’s new ones.

Then enter "Artists' Hands", the heart of Louis Vuitton’s savoir-faire, and discover how experienced hands bring the Louis Vuitton icons to life.

Follow them in real-time as artisans create La Petite Malle and the Dora, two of Louis Vuitton’s New Classics.

At the "Infinite Show" section, viewers can relive the excitement that surrounds a show at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, where the Autumn-Winter 2015/2016 fashion show actually took place.

There are 48 backstage looks, 30 make-up artists under Pat McGrath’s guidance, 25 hairdressers under Paul Hanlon, 45 model dressers.... and one designer, Nicolas Ghesquière.

Model Freja Beha is first to take to the catwalk. She wears a white sheepskin coat, carries an Echappée Belle trunk in silver Epi and walks in black leather “Masterpiece” ankle boots.

Other aspects of the exhibition include: The Science of Savoir Faire, A Tale of Craftsmanship and The Accessories Gallery.

“I’ve always loved designing accessories. For me, accessories never stand alone, there has to be a common thread between them. They’re an integral part of each outfit, either clashing
or complementing it. They share the same sentiment and movement as the garment. A silhouette is a complete make-up of all these elements.” says Nicolas Ghesquière.

Here guests discover Marte Mei van Haaster’s avatar and the accessories from the Autumn-Winter 2015/2016 collection.

Every fashion lover dreams of a Walk-in Wardrobe and here clothes tucked away in their glass cases come alive when they are taken.

"Be My Guest" reveals The Autumn-Winter 2015/2016 campaign by Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber.

Their study focuses on the many facets of the Nicolas Ghesquière woman: actresses, iconic models, “new faces”... Of different generations and backgrounds, they are all Louis Vuitton.

- The exhibition runs at 180 Strand London WC2R  1EA until October 18 and will be open daily from 10am to 8pm.
